Our name SOBER speaks for itself - Save Our Borderland Environment. The group was formed shortly after the appearance of the statement made by the Oswestry Principle Planning Officer (click here to download the statement), in which details were given of the proposed development of 18 wind turbines together with associated plant. The area in question is located on the Shropshire / Wales borders at Cefn Y Maes, extending north and west covering some 113 acres. This encompasses land within Oswestry Borough, Wrexham County Borough and Powys. |
The group was formed in May 2004 in response to a statement issued by Oswestry planners, and recently held our first public meeting to provide information about the group, and to seek public support. If you wish to support SOBER, either by joining the committee, or with offers of help and advice, or should you wish to make a donation to our funds, we would like to hear from you. Click here or on the Supporters Area button on the navigation bar to register your support. In time, we will be issuing newsletters, and more detailed information - visit our site again soon. |
